The epsilon-Gini-contamination multiple priors model admits a linear-mean-standard-deviation utility representation

چکیده
We introduce the ε-Gini-contamination multiple priors model in which the set of priors are those probability measures that are ‘close’ to a central P with respect to the relative Gini concentration index. We show that such preferences can be represented by a linear-mean-standard-deviation utility function on a restricted domain. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Choice deferral and ambiguity aversion
When confronted with uncertain prospects, people often exhibit both choice deferral and Ellsberg-type ambiguity aversion. This paper obtains a joint representation for these behavioral phenomena. The decision maker as portrayed by my model is willing to choose an uncertain prospect f over g rather than to defer this choice if and only if the expected utility of f is greater that or equal to the...
متن کاملA more robust definition of multiple priors∗
This paper provides a multiple-priors representation of ambiguous beliefs à la Ghirardato, Maccheroni, and Marinacci (2004) and Nehring (2002) for any preference that is (i) monotonic, (ii) Bernoullian, i.e. admits an affine utility representation when restricted to constant acts, and (iii) suitably continuous. Monotonicity is the main substantive assumption: we do not require either Certainty ...
متن کاملThe Analysis of Iran Cotton Producers’ Risk Degree Based on Non-Linear Mean-Standard Deviation Model
As regards decreasing cotton cultivation in Iran during these years, the degree of risk taken by a cotton cultivator in the agricultural part is important. The studies showed that the cotton crop yield during the past years did not have enough growth and the cotton cost product in the period of study cotton production costs, has increased. In this paper, the risk orientation of cotton cultivato...
متن کاملExactly What Happens After the Anscombe-Aumann Race? Representing Preferences in Vague Environments
This paper derives a representation of preferences for a choice theory with vague environments; vague in the sense that the agent does not know the precise lotteries over outcomes conditional on states. Instead, he knows only a possible set of these lotteries for each state. Thus, this paper’s main departure from the standard subjective expected utility model is to relax an assumption about the...
متن کاملRecursive Vector Expected Utility
This paper proposes and axiomatizes a recursive version of the vector expected utility (VEU) decision model (Siniscalchi, 2009). Recursive VEU preferences are dynamically consistent and “consequentialist.” Dynamic consistency implies standard Bayesian updating of the baseline (reference) prior in the VEU representation, but imposes no constraint on the adjustment functions and one-step-ahead ad...
